Community Leader/Activist

JD has always been focused on the well-being of others and has dedicated his entire adult life to public service. At the age of 15 he joined the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) which is the oldest civil rights organization in America, founded in 1909. He is a lifetime member of the organization and was elected in November 2018 to serve as the President of the Arlington Branch NAACP.   


JD is 26-year military veteran of the United States Marine Corps who retired from active duty in December 2016 at the highest grade of E-9, Master Gunnery Sergeant. During his military service he served in a myriad of assignments, both in combat and abroad. 


A life-long Democrat, JD believes in uplifting the community and fighting injustice and inequality of all persons.
